Clothing Consumption System
What is CCS?
Clothing Consumption System (CCS) is an umbrella term to refer to the structural elements and transactional processes associated with the lifecycle of clothing and its materials.
Why CCS?
The lack of a term in both literature (academic and non-academic) and practice that represents the entire lifecycle of apparel and the interactions among all the stakeholders engaged in it led to the introduction and use of the term ‘Clothing consumption system’. The whole system is often confused with or referred to as the apparel industry or fashion. It is believed that the use of the term Clothing consumption system will help create the distinction and bring in clarity.
